Handover of the flat must be completed no later than the end date of the rental agreement.
1. Pick up the flat handover envelope from the office, which asks for your contact information and in which you place all keys to be returned.
Clean and empty your room/flat thoroughly, including shared spaces in shared flats (your share) and the flat-specific storage locker! If the flat is found to be poorly cleaned during the move-out inspection or if items/junk have been left behind, it will be cleaned/emptied to handover condition and charged automatically from the deposit (€40/h). In shared flats, we also check that the shared spaces (kitchen, toilet, bathroom, hallway, balcony, and flat-specific sauna) are clean for the new tenant moving in. If shared spaces are not cleaned/emptied, the costs will be divided among all residents and invoiced/deducted from the deposit! (If you’re moving out during the weekend and suspect that your roommate staying behind might throw a party before the move-out inspection, take photos of the cleaned spaces to cover yourself…) At Koskisoppi, there is a waste container in the parking area behind building E where you can take accumulated junk—the container is also available for residents of other properties. Electronic waste, such as computers, televisions, washing machines, microwaves, etc., and hazardous waste, such as batteries, accumulators, and fluorescent tubes, can be taken to the designated location at Koskisoppi next to the garage.
2. Return your room key/flat keys with the key tag in the apartment handover envelope to the office. Outside office hours, drop the envelope through the mail slot in the office door. Note! If you want to be present during the move-out inspection, call the property maintenance person directly and arrange the time for the move-out inspection (the key is handed over in the envelope to the maintenance person). However, the tenant’s presence during the move-out inspection is not mandatory.
4. We charge a €30 penalty fee if you have not followed the move-out instructions (e.g., failed to return the key and we have to call you about it).
5. Submit a notification of change of address to the Digital and Population Data Services Agency posti.fi/changeaddress/ or by calling 0295 535 535 at least three days before you move out.
